Nicola Burrell

Born 1966 BTEC Diploma in Art at Colchester BA (Hons) Fine Art University of Ulster, Belfast. MA Fine Art, Ulster PGCE (Teaching Cert) Goldsmiths College. Freelance artist Residencies in N. Ireland, Spain, Germany Exhibits in Essex venues Co-ordinator of Trinity Street studios, Colchester. Runs artist workshops in schools. Many of her workshops use recycled materials and she has helped pupils to make their own playground sculpture. Works Mill2007 Cast concrete One of four sculptures commissioned as part of the River Stort Trail. Sited at Latton Lock where Latton Mill stood its shapes take inspiration from the Mill mechanisms and the water power which drove them. New Town2009 Florence Nightingale Medical Centre, Church Langley. Commissioned by Harlow Health Centres Trust, the piece features the four main neighbourhood groups with building representations on top, including the demolished Town Hall (2001).(ref: Newsletter July 2009 )
