This winning design was submitted for fabrication in welded steel by Conner McWhinnie an Art and Design student at Harlow College. It is sited at the campus entrance on Velizy Avenue, Harlow.
Design brief for a new sculpture competition with students from Harlow College. The winning design to be commissioned for the opening of the new university centre in September 2011 built on the College campus. Two themes are Communication or ‘Harlow the Home of Fibre Optics’. The style is to be contemporary. Two design sheets from Connor are shown above and were selected by the University of East Anglia and Harlow College. Connor went on from his Diploma in Art and Design to study for a degree in Illustration at Norwich School of Art.
